The landscape designed for the McLaughlin Residence reinterprets entertainment and play into a semi formal design. A sense of open space was created and privacy from neighbors was addressed.
The new formal entrance from the street
bisects a defined circle of grass. Flanking the entry stairs are jardiniers cast in a complementary color to enhance the house.
The back yard opens onto multiple levels
stone paved patios and lawn connected
by sweeping stairs. The full size pool and
separate spa become architectural details. The pool incorporates slides and misters which entice family and friends to participate in the outdoors.
Softening the geometry of the design,
textural plantings and natural boulders are integrated into the landscape. Engaging and comfortable the McLaughlin outdoor living space meets the needs of a modern garden.
