The Lexis condominium’s private second floor courtyard overlooks Tanner Springs Park and the new Fields Park in Portland’s Pearl District.

The courtyard features contemporary landscape elements and a sophisticated plant palette that provides clarity and formality to the space. KLA designed sculptural columns that are indirect light features constructed with brilliant white precast concrete clad with perforated galvanized steel and mesh. These columns double as trellises that seasonally become living green partitions between quiet seating areas. The unique light columns are literally the highlights of this project.

The central space is a common area surrounded on three sides by planting beds that separate the private residential terraces.

Custom perforated metal screen walls at the street level entrance continue the energy and inspiration of the courtyard design.
