Koch Landscape Architecture
Resting above the City of Portland, complete with breathtaking views to the Cascade Range are two side by side Tudor style homes of landmark status. Restored by the same owner, the homes are used as a main residence and guest suites. The owners sought to enhance the European feel of each home with period landscape style alterations.
The landscape was compromised for the
uncompromised views thus leaving little
level ground for outdoor entertaining and
wandering. Over the course of three years KLA re-invented balconies and terraces into private outdoor sanctuaries complete with a mix of antique and contemporary statuary and furnishings, redesigned forged wrought iron work, and custom wood lattice.
Plantings and hand-carved pottery blend
house with landscape and add a colorful
flare. New York Bluestone was burnished to provide an antique feel to complement the lush and formal plantings.
