The Burlington Apartments are located on the eastern edge of the River District between NW 9th and NW 10th and south of NW Lovejoy.

KLA designed the landscape to help resolve conflicts between surface parking areas at the southeast corner of the site. The resulting Kearney Walk, a pedestrian promenade is screened from the parking by the use of a sculptural screen wall designed by the architects and inspired by the building style. In addition, a rhythmic procession of raised planters, bench seating, lawn panels and decomposed granite paving invites passersby to take respite in a variety of intimate urban niches sheltered by ornamental trees. Kearney Walk is an important link to other surrounding public open spaces.
