| The Alexan is the first apartment building to be constructed within the Central District of the South Riverfront Redevelopment Area. Trammell Crow Residential is taking the lead by developing 319 apartment units in a 22 floor tower on the northern edge of the site overlooking a future two acre public park. The ground floor is primarily retail with townhome units along SW. Lane. The main entry on the north side includes a water feature and sculpture that is activated by stormwater from the fifth floor podium level. Below the roof garden are five floors of structured parking for residents, guests and the public. KLA has designed the entry plaza at the northwest corner of the site, the north podium private terraces and the expansive south podium ecoroof that features circular and elliptical islands of lush but drought tolerant plantings. Intensive and extensive greenroof technologies are used to create a cost effective LEED certified greenroof. This area is accompanied by a community multimedia room, spa and outoor fireplace and patio. In addition, KLA has design the pedestrian link to the District’s Green Accessways that terminate at the Willamette River Greenway. |
